Pierre Cardin Vintage Clothes
Pierre Cardin, originally Pietro Cardin, was born in Itay in 1922. The word best describing Pierre Cardins designs is Avant Garde, similar to Courrege his Space Age designs were often geometric and largely igored the female form, he designed the bubble dress in 1954 and experimented with unisex clothing which was unheard of in this era. Moving to Paris in 1945 like others before him he studied Architecture, working first with Jeanne Paquin after the war then Elsa Schiaparelli until in 1947 when he became head of Christian Dior's tailleure atelier. By 1950s he longed to design under his own name and founded his own label, he launched his own line with 30 designs at "the party of the century", a masquerade ball at Palazzo Labia in Venice on 3 September 1951.
